Hi everybody! wow, it says on my home page that it's been twenty six weeks since I posted an entry on this journal, but it doesn't feel like I've been away from lj at all.

I just wanted to say that I've started a new community about the intersection of geekery and college, for those of you who are still in school. It's called collegiategeek , and on it I'll post reviews of science fiction and fantasy programming and books (I'm working on a review of Virtuality right now, and another one for "The Next Doctor"), as well as a US TV guide, and news about college related events like college quidditch, conventions, workshops, and author readings.

Posting isn't open right now until I figure out a system for that, but membership is. Check it out, please!

It's almost Christmas, everyone! Is anyone else getting excited?

I'm in a giving mood. What do you guys want for Christmas?

I'm this close to writing my college application about the Doctor.

Things what I have learned in the past twenty four hours:

1. I have no job security. This is perhaps a little melodramatic of me, but I suddenly feel like I'm a character in The Grapes of Wrath except, you know, not starving and destitute and stuff.

2. The Internet is Magical. My computer was broken, but now it is fixed! And I did nothing. I do not question this, I merely accept it.

3. "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" really is more fun to watch if you just imagine that John Hart is Spike.

4.  There is a community called the "Donna Noble Centre for Denial." I very much approve. I feel that this is a good approach to the rest of New Who. Season 4b FTW!

5. There's going to be a trailer for Watchmen in front of the new Batman movie. This is most excellent.

6. Apparently, my way of fixing the ending of JE is to imagine Nine finding Donna and yelling at Ten a lot. A lot a lot.

I'm trying to write something right now that would justify what happens to Rose at the end of Journey's End, so that I can feel better about it.  There's a rational reason, I'm sure.  I can't do the same thing with Donna, though: still can't find find words to express how pissed off her ending makes me.

Also, I had to fix my sister's and my mom's ipods, and my mom may have kind of broken my closet door, so there's this big gaping darkness staring at me. Mnergh.

Also also? I have no room left on my ipod for new music, since I have a shitty 2GB classic nano.

Somehow, I think this may be all RTD's fault. Thanks, RTD. Thanks muchly.
